Spares & Repairs
Our workshop handles most repairs in-house. Here’s what we cover.
Spare parts
We’re dedicated to keeping you in the air, so we know how important it is to hold a good stock of spare parts for the equipment we supply — including for older models. Many of the spares we hold aren’t listed in the shop, as we may only sell a single piece in a year. We also hold stocks of genuine materials, so we can help and advise on any repair work you may need. Get in touch to discuss your requirements and we’ll do our best to get you back in the air.
Paraglider lines
For replacement or spare suspension lines, we work with Aerofix Paragliding Service and Repair Centre (based in Bradwell, Derbyshire — tel. 01433 627195), who hold an enormous stock of line and make replacements to order from fresh material, to the same specification as the original. They’ll need your glider’s make, model, size and line colour, ideally with the line diagram and codes from your manual.
Wing & harness repairs
Aerofix also handle sail cloth repairs, from take-off terrain damage to line-overs and worse. Small rips of around 2cm or less, away from seams and stress points, can usually be repaired yourself with self-adhesive ripstop tape; larger tears typically need a sewn patch, and full replacement panels are available for a fully invisible repair. They can also repair harnesses, and will give you a rough cost estimate by phone or email before you book anything in.
Helmets
Helmets are fragile when not on your head — avoid dropping them, sitting on them, or squashing them in a rucksack, which can crack the shell around the chin piece even without visible damage. It is not possible to repair a damaged helmet: if yours has been dropped or cracked, it should be replaced.
Flight instruments
For a Flymaster instrument problem, contact us first — we may be able to fix it over the phone. Make sure your firmware is up to date, and for anything needing manufacturer service we can point you to the Flymaster Support Centre. We stock replacement vario screens and cases for the handy, and can often lend you a temporary replacement unit if a repair means you’d otherwise be without one.
Everything else
Not sure if we can fix it? Send us a photo and a description — if we can’t help directly, we’ll usually know who can.
